The following is an update
to the Short-Term Operational Plan for the maintenance on the
NPS 36 Foothills BC Mainline.
The Alberta/BC (ALTBC)
border receipt capability will be reduced to 64.0 E6m3/d (2,259
MMcf/d) effective 08:00 MST March 6, and continuing to an undetermined
date. Firm service levels (including contract levels and
fuel requirements) for the months of March and April are 66.6
E6m3/d (2,351 MMcf/d) and 61.4 E6m3/d (2,167 MMcf/d) respectively,
at the ALTBC border. During this maintenance there may be
interruptions and curtailment of firm service at the ALTBC border
during this period.
This reduction in capability
is required so that further excavations and repairs can be made
on the next section of the Foothills BC Mainline. Due to
the location of these repairs and the upcoming seasonal changes,
TransCanada is unable to determine when these repairs will be
completed, but they are expected to take a few months. TransCanada
will endeavor to provide shippers with as much notice as possible
of any future changes.
All of this work is
part of TransCanada's ongoing maintenance program, aimed at bringing
the currently de-rated pipeline back to is full Maximum Allowable
Operating Pressure as soon as possible. TransCanada continues
to work with downstream pipelines to help minimize disruptions
as much as possible.
Further updates will
be provided via bulletin. For more information, please contact
