The following is an update
to the Short-Term Operational Plan for the maintenance on the
NPS 36 Foothills BC Mainline and the Elko 'C' Compressor.
The Alberta/BC (ALTBC)
Border receipt capability will be reduced to 63.0 E6m3/d (2,224
mmcf/d) beginning at 08:00 MST, December 16, and continuing to
an undetermined date. Firm service levels for the month
of December are 69.9 E6m3/d (2,468 mmcf/d) at the ALTBC Border.
The reduction in capability is driven
by new information which was recently received as part of the
October pipe inspection conducted on the Foothills portion of
the pipeline in BC. As a result, a further reduction in
the Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure is deemed to be required
and will be implemented immediately. A repair plan is currently
being developed, and any new information will be communicated
when available. All of this work is part of TransCanada's
ongoing maintenance program, aimed at bringing the currently de-rated
pipeline back to its full Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure
as soon as possible.
Work is also continuing
on the Elko 'C' compressor unit. When the unit becomes available,
the ALTBC border receipt capability may increase depending on
the progress of the pipeline repairs.
Further updates will be provided via bulletin. For more
